There is a nice abandoned Cav near me, that now has the removal notice on it. I wish the council would let me have it!

Surely it is less effort for them to let me remove it and do something with it, than them have to come and do it and then crush it.

I can only assume the real owner does not want it as otherwise they would get it moved or sorted :(

Seems a bit stupid in my opinion.

I feel a bit better now i have shared this, although is still a shame that a car that i could put to good use will be removed any day now

:)

Wont HAVE to be crushed mate.
I'm sure that is what happens if owner does not re-claim and pay whatever fines.

And i can only assume he will not do this, as the car has been there a while and he didn't do anything, and not done anything now it has a removal notice on either.

Well what spec is it?
It's a 1994 2L 16v GLS
In dark green with nice Vaux alloys too

DVLA has it as SORN as from the start of this month, but it's on the road so i'm guessing thats why it's due to be removed :(

yup! a friend of mine when i was on the buses did the same with an n reg mv6. We were going past it loads of times every day and after a couple of weeks, he spoke to the police who advised him what to do. As mentioned in a previous post, he now owns the car and has done for at least a year

Wait til the day it is going to be crushed, and if its still there, have the wheels off it.

But surely you can then just get done for stealing? Would you have to contact the local council or police first?

And someone would surely report you when you are moving it, as obviously would have to break in and then probably arouse suspicion

I know of someone who became the owner of an Escort Cossie this way. I think there's a thread about it on MIG. Don't know the whole procedure but at the end of it all the DVLA sent him the logbook.
