We've had several valuations of between 3-5k not taking into consideration of the mods nor mileage strictly age of the car.

To answer the mot question th car was mot'd and insured for two years without moving was in a lock up as he didn't pass his test for several years. Hence the low mileage on a 8 year old car.

Your not going to get any extra for the mods. I'd say 4k would be a fair price. If the milage is genuine and it's in top condition then maybe 5k. My Astra Arctic is probably only worth what your asking. Would be nice to put next to mine but too many mods for me

I appreciate that comment. I came on this page specifically for information and advice. That 7.5k was just a highest possible (hopeful) bid. Having spoke to several people I feel 4-5k is reasonable and would be happy to do business at that.

Thanks for your input

As ever valuation of your pride & joy is subjective mainly due to emotional attachment & monetary investment by the seller in the car .
You mention the car isn't for the faint hearted , so has this car been on track days?

Not personally interested in the sale but appreciate the smaller cars with bigger performance but can you include the Dyno results in the photos. Looks in really good condition inside and out.
I think you can safely say it's an 'enthusiasts' car that's been tweaked and updated in certain areas (Clarkson...POWER!) but is the handling up to it as I read "not for the feint hearted" as "gets a bit sketchy". £120 on two front tyres...Did you get a silly deal on something?
HPI / accident free?

Just checked the tyres from the photo. Nice looking tread but might be losing some grip / braking performance.

sorry for the delay in reply been digging through paperwork for it, your right in the clarkson statement. handing is not bad if your know what your doing with the torque steer etc. brakes were updated slightly as for the rest im not so sure.

here is the dyno graph as promised.

I'm always suspicious of plots that don't show power at the wheels, or what fiddle factors are being used to make up the power at the flywheel.

Right, constructive criticism

If you want to sell a car for a decent price you need a decent advert, yours is quite frankly sh!t.

Get rid of the cap locks and FFS put a bit of punctuation in there.

Unfortunately £120 for front tyres is nothing to be proud of, that price screams ditch finders and tyres that have just been chucked on to sell it. Any owner who cares about their car knows the tyres and brakes are the two most important things, cheap nasty tyres suggests owner doesn't really care.

Same goes for the wheels. They are kerbed, don't say its 'its only £200 to get them done', bearing in mind what you want for it, get them done before sale, it has to be perfect to get above average money. Again kerbed alloys suggests driver doesn't really care and runs it into things, so not only are the wheels damaged but what else is 'bent' underneath (two cheap tyres adds to this 'mystery' and doubt in a buyer)

Get rid of the crap VXR stick on tat, again screams boy racer with no mechanical sympathy.

Explain why the engine was changed. that few miles it 'could' have been a warranty issue, if it was due to manufacture failure, otherwise, again seems like the owner had no mechanical sympathy and killed it through lack of care/ maintenance and if the engine was blown up, what state is the gearbox and rest of the drive trains in?

Put some proper pictures up of the actual car, not just random bits, for all anyone knows looking at your pictures half the car might be missing.

Also your description is confusing, its titled your pride and joy but you are looking to sell your cousins car. Who's pride and joy actually is it?

Again the above is aimed at being constructive, some of the suggestions might not apply to you or the owner, BUT as someone reading the advert it doesn't come across that way
