Hi all,

Just have a quick one really, a freind in work has a problem with his astra.
As about 5-7k revs the engine holdes back (hesatates) and then smothes out again, now i have said i would help, by way of the paper clip test to read the EML light, but he has just told me the diagnostic plug is near his hand brake in the car??(as he has just had tec2 done not long ago)

So anyone got any ideas on the problem?

And is the plug the same pins to bridge as the cavalier is??(and the fault codes the same)??

No smoke from the zorst, and no weird noises, just seems to bog...idles fine, and starts fine...i know the fault code will shead light on the subject, but any help would be good!

jesus my 1.7 DTi only goes to 5000 rpm! not that theres any point over reving that engine because the turbo isnt big enough to run at that rpm. better to keep it between 2500 and 3500 goes like a rocket!

I ment the problem shows more underload, and it does top out at 5k revs, was thinking about sommit else when i was posting this for him!!

Anyone know how to flash the codes up, or is he going to have to stick it on a tec2??
