A Friend recently suffered hgf on ZR160, (only 30K).

He stripped the head off himself and sent it off for pressure testing, skimming, vvc mechs stripped and re-built etc.

Over the last few days he's re-built it all back up, now when he trys to start the car there appears to be little or no compression, and the engine is almost trying to exhaust itself back through the throttle body (at one point even firing a flame from it!!!!!!)
we have assessed the car over and over, every thing seems to be connected but it won't start.

Also has EML on, anyone know if the paper clip test works on an MG?

Thanks.

Timing correct?

I am in no way undermiming your/his knowledge but you do realise those VVC heads are extremely complex and amateur repairs usually result in total failaure of the head, they recommend you get a specialist to work on them
