Hi, new question:
Where is the location of the fuel lift pump/sender unit?
It's usually under one of the rear seats.
Is there an easy route or do I have to remove the rear seats?
My Mom can only get £14 max in to fill it up but it's empty according to the gauge and fuel light after 200 miles.
I'm assuming it's a faulty fuel sender or maybe an airlock in the tank?
The car is a 2012 Meriva B 1.7 CDTi

Change the fuel filler cap first and check the breather system isn't blocked.

When you put in fuel, before adding diesel switch on the ignition with the cap off and listen to hear of there is any noise from the filler neck when you release the cap.

To do this do not stick you ear 👂🏽 near the cap as you open, use a bit of garden hose.

Then listen as you open if there is a drop or hissing sound....

Once you take the cap off try slowly adding fuel and see what the gauge does. Then let us know.
