Hi forum,

My Meriva A is developing quite a squeak when traversing potholes, road humps and the like. With the windows up it's barely audible - but quite loud with the windows open. I think I've narrowed it down to the rear drivers side - but there's nothing visibly wrong and bumping the car the car by hand lacks the momentum to create the noise as only sharp movements seem to cause it. That said the issue isn't speed related - even 5mph over a narrow speed hump will trigger it. Driving on level road and cornering don't trigger it. Whilst I suspect rear the damper is at fault, replaced four-five years ago, I wondered if there were any other areas I need to look?

Cheers,
Matt.

The rear axle beam hangs on large rubber bushes. Mine creak and groan a lot some days. I've no movement on the bushes themselves so I am leaving well alone. Check yours with the car raised and a crowbar or similar.
