Hi All.
Car started to loose plenty collant. I topped up 3 litres of water in 2 days. That does not sound healty. But what is the cause?

Dipstick has not mayo look like substance. (Oil is just on 3rd bar)
There is increased fuel consumption. (Almost half of a tank gone for 80 miles)
There is no sign of power loss.

I am not sure if issue is head gasket. What do you think?
I need to sort it out asap, as I do a lot of school drop offs / pick ups.

Thank you in advance

Mine was losing coolant at an alarming rate and it was the filler cap. New one sorted it.

Do you any drips or pools of water underneath the car or steam from exhaust when it's running.

No water or drips under car or steam from exhaust. I checked the oil today. It was same level as yesterday. Technically if it were head gasket would not the oil level go up?

Do you think I should get a cap and test for a week?

I'd fit a cap. They are only cheap.

I did that. Still same. I decided to run the engine until I see evidence. Then I saw the evidence. Pipe from the engine to radiator is burst. I will find and replace it. Hope that is the end of my worries.

BTW does anyone know name of the part / hose? I will order and replace it. Meanwhile I have bought below product. Hope it will keep me safe for another 200 miles / until spare part is found and delivered.
