Bmw did that with this 1.6 e36 models.
They were actually a 1749CC engine so looked powerful for a 1.6 compared to the ford fiesta 1.6 zetec of the time.
Those 135i are rapid, they cant hang on round bends and corners the way my little del sol does.
I’m pretty sure the Del Sol won’t see which way the M135i went after a couple of corners (unless it has been extensively tuned and modified of course)
Be good to see a thread on the del sol. Sounds like some animal.
I too prefer to see who's fastest on the track but tend to do that on two wheels.
Bear in mind this is only my daily hack. It's pretty well sorted though, RWD, lighter than an e90 M3, adaptive suspension, Michelin pilot super sports etc.
Handles pretty well, oodles of power compared to a 330 club sport.
Ive got more than 100 bhp per litre. Whats average about that?
My Del Sol weighs under 900kgs.
Good luck getting 1 series bmw with a weight of over 1550kgs and load of body roll to Asda.
Im sure its a real chick puller and stands out from the 120d.

You've not driven one have you? It isn't a 120d with a body kit.
I've not insulted your car by the way so not sure why your having a pop at mine. Not that I care massively. I've got a monaro vxr and several motorcycles for going quickly in/on. Also a wife and child so not too bothered about "chick pulling"
Anyway, get a thread up on this del sol. Would like to see some pics/spec
Sorry for apparently insulting your friends and you car by joining in a bit of banter.
Ive read the reviews and watched the youtube uploads on the 135i. It's a nicer car than the new m140i.
Its the same as a civic.. by the s type and it looks no different frok th le type r aside ftom alloys..
All the big manufacturer's now do it. Audi, bmw, mercedes, ford, honda and even Kia.
They may drive lot differently, but the aesthetic is not a huge difference.

I'm guessing that would be a no. lots of answers all avoiding the question
100bhp per litre was quite impressive when the Mclaren F1 produced iirc 627 bhp from its 6 ltr BMW engine and the E(whatever) M3 of the same era produced 321bhp from its 3.2 ltr N/A engine , but when its 160bhp from a 1.6 shopping trolley its not impressive at all, bearing in mind most modern diesels produce more bhp with a massive wave of low down torque to drag the slightly heavier body down the road, even less impressive when that's about half the specific output of your crappy daily @Matt-SRI
As previously mentioned the BM would be round the bend and over the horizon before the Marbella has even thought about where the apex might be
Or to put it another way, 160bhp/0.9= 177bhp/tonne against 315/1.5=210bhp/ tonne - whichever way you look at the BM is long gone
Unless of course the magical Malaga has a lot more power, but without a gallery thread we will just have to take the word of someone on the internet
I await to be proven wrong
