Hello all,

I'm having CIM issues and need to reset it but I've lost my car pass. The local vauxhall place can sort it for me but their parts guy isn't in on weekends and I'm not going to get a chance to get there today.

If I was to just sit there and guess the security code from 0000 to 9999 until it worked would I do any damage?

I'm a developer, I can write something to do this fairly easily I think so I won't be sitting there for hours counting... But is there anything on the car side which would stop me doing this?

Thanks

You have 10 tries before cim locks up. Last try will require waiting time of over a day with contact on. 2nd try requires 10 sec waiting time. From 2 to 9 you can calculate.
There are some other developers out there outsmarting such brute attack methods since a loooong time ago.
