hi guys
ive got an 04 plate astravan 1.7CDTi

its got the little display above the radio with the date / time and the temperature.

The problem is the temperature reading isnt there, its just two dashes or -- deg rather then say 12 deg (for example) so its not showing the temp

does this mean its not got one fitted or its broken? If so is this a common fault and can it easily be rectifed without spending silly money ?

has anyone else had this fault ?

i know where the outdoor temp sensor is, I recall mine being loose when I got the car. Open up the hood and it is stuck somewhere on the bumper/grill in the middle-ish.

I think you can just plug another sensor on,

sure someone else here will confirm for you.

Sensor is clipped onto the bottom of the front bumper mate,right bang smack in the centre!!

Yep, it'll be a faulty external temperature sensor.
