For maybe a couple of months now there's been a knocking / squeaking intermittently from what sounds like the front passenger side. It's been checked at independent garages who suspected shocks, but Arnold Clark Vauxhall said they're fine. Suspension also checked out fine on recent service and no cause has been found.

It mostly happens moving at slow speed and over bumps / rough ground and braking but not all the time. Anyone have any ideas?

That's the trouble with knocks etc , you can convince yourself it's from the front when it's probably from the back. If it's intermittent I'd suspect the anti roll bar bushes .

To rule rubbers in or out, get some silicon spray (not spray oil/grease)
When it's happening spray one of the rubbers.
Then drive it, if it still does it spray the next one etc till it's stops (and you have found it) or if it ain't it's something else.

A squeak on a jag x type I had was actually a handbrake cable moving on a locating point when not in correctly. When suspension moved so did the cable obviously with other end coming from the body
