Hi I have a 94 16v 2ltr gls omega. done 88k

I think i may have a blown head gasket, water is disappearing, car is overheating within a few minutes of driving and there is a lot of pressure in the expansion tank together with i would say more cappucino than creamy oil residue in on the oil filler cap and dip stick.

Could it be anything else ?

Has anyone got any ideas where the best place to get a gasket set is, and any detailed instructions on how to do it, alternatively does any one know any decent mechanic who can do it properly and cheaply in the Southend area of essex ( and what sort of money i will be looking at )

Many thanks

Sounds like it may be the head gasket , cream on dip-stick sounds like it :shame: . On 2.5 and 3.0 oil cooler goes and is confused with head gasket failure , but that is oil in water rather than water in oil .

Dont let it over heat too much or the cylinder head will warp and then it will need to be skimmed , parts should be quite cheap , so if you can do it yourself cost will be OK , at garage cost will be for labour .
