Basically the car broke down at the weekend. All manner of warning lights came on the dash and I lost power steering etc. The garage thinks the cause is a blown control unit behind the dash and believe that it is due to aftermarket wiring, ie a mobile eye device (accident preventative device), parrot (hands free device). However, I know of vehicles that have the exact devices fitted and never a problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated please. Thanks

were these devices fitted by a qualified auto electrician? If so, I would go back to them and explain the situation and hear their thoughts. If they were fitted by someone none qualified then I fear you will have a battle on with the dealer - whether this was the cause or not. You need to try and find someone who can substantiate that the fitted electrical items were unlikely to cause this failure. Good luck
