Hi.
Where did you find a new Xenon unit for as little as ÂŁ500?
I have the same problem as you. RH high beam inoperable which after a few mins of driving knocks out the LH high beam. Other than the error message everything is working. Just bought a used headlamp and about to fit in a few days.
It seems that the stepper motor that operates the rolling blind in the assembly is siezed. The same for someone else I know. If you remove the cap, you might want to see if yours moves freely, or is siezed. Likewise, you should note that the good headlamp will move freely.
My understanding is that you can't fit halogen headlamps to Xenon equipped cars without throwing up loads of error messages and lots of requiring. Please let me know if you find different.

I got a passenger side Xenon headlight from Auto-Doc in Germany for around 500 quid.
All lights working dipped, turning, flash and full beam.No bulb or ballast supplied though.
I still get check dipped beam warning, but passed M.O.T. a fortnight ago.

Hi there,

I have a similar problem with my car, I drive a 2014 (facelift) Insignia Limited Edition. It has almost every optional extra including those troublesome HID/Xenon headlights with steering assist with the ballast on the side of the headlights, NOT underneath..

My car has been telling me occasionally that the headlight levelling has a fault and the AFL, but I get no warning lights on the dash and headlights have always worked. The passenger front has some condensation in it and I assume that its got a crack somewhere as I cant find it.

Moving on, the passenger headlight gave up and I replaced it with some Osram replacements at ÂŁ50 each!, it didnt work, nothing. Drivers side works fine and no issues.

Swapped over ballasts and still the same issue.

Bought a genuine new ballast and still the same issue, but now neither headlights will work, DRL works, indicator works, fogs work.

So when I switch the headlights on, they flicker and then nothing, try again, flicker then nothing, it seems like the ballasts are trying to trigger the bulbs, but nothing.

Had the garage read the codes and no trouble codes, but he did mention that the headlight unit had lost comms with the lin bus something or other, he didnt want to fix it and sent me on my way. Does anyone know what the issue is?

Ive tried and failed in removing the battery negative for a couple of hours and that didnt help either.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

Best wishes

Simon
have you checked the terminals on the headlight socket?
Before i bought the new unit, one from a scrap yard i bought, the terminals had burned out between the ballast and unit. Perhaps swapping them over might have damaged the other side too...
