Phoned up local Vauxhall garage today as Super-Shed L is off road with failed crank sensor.

Got quoted £88.50 plus vat for said sensor to suit SEH:mmmm . Had to say 'sorry, only paid £60 for whole car, it's off to find a second hand one.'

Can anyone think of a more stupidly over priced Cavalier part? A crank sensor is a bit of metal attached to a wire with a plug on the end. Suspected cost of production.. ooh maybe £1.

And for that matter, anyone in the south west got one lying about? :lmao:

Generally the rule seems to be... if its easy to fit then the part is expensive as hell, if its a bugger to fit its cheap as chips.

Have you tried Autovaux? I paid £40 for a cam sensor there last year - £20 cheaper than the place my garage was getting it from.
