Hi

Can anyone help me...

My movano camper died on a trip to Northumberland before this last lockdown. RAC diagnosed knocking engine and poss turbo failure.

I had it recovered and my usual garage said it was too long for thier ramps so another local garage took it on. I supplied a s/h 2.2 from french auto specialists.

Which they attempted to fit after 3 months due to the turbo being goosed and then a vivid closure they now tell me they cannot get the engine I purchased to run right they say it's leaking out of gearbox and rocker cover seals.

They are talking to FAS asap.

Finding a 2.2 seems difficult. Would a 2.5 fit??

Also I'm loosing faith in the garage quite quickly but need to get my van back without paying the full amount as they have only bodged the job.

Can anyone recommend a specialist near Bradford West Yorkshire who would do a good job??

I need the van to visit my aging parents in Dorset so I stay in thier drive and keep socially distanced now that lockdown has finished.

Cheers in anticipation.

Yes, excessive crankcase pressure will cause oil to blow past seals, whats the pressure like with the oil filler cap removed.

So update 4/5......

Took to garage as above ...

He agreed didn't sound good.

Noticed the wires are a mess in the fuse box. Also leaking oil.

Brakes were dodgy too.

He went to get it pre mot but they didn't finish it due to the oil.

However in the way home I took a longer route round the moor and thrashed it up to 50mph for about 10mins. This had the effect of getting rid of the bag of nails sound and the brakes were better v odd???

So I've got an oil leak from the crankcase seal I thing just above the power steering pump, wiring that needs a sort out, sounds more do able???

Also smells of mold in the back what the best way to get rid of it?

3rd garage this morning who said it was a cam chain casting leak. They couldn't fix it.

Perhaps a loose chain had worn through the sky casting?

Looks like end if the road. Poor thing as it's running really quite well!
