I have a 98 astra on an r plate and had to take out the heating control console to fix a prob with my rear heated window button now i come to put it all back i cant work out the airflow direction cables as i can get them to fit but then the dial is really stiff and dosent feel smooth.

Is there a certain setting you have to put the airflow direction knob to before re-connecting the 2 cables to the back of the dial. Its got me really stressed, nearly job done now stuck at the last hurdle.

Any pointers would be great, thanks
