There's loads of cars that I can afford to buy but can't afford the insurance. Have a look at these...

You WANT to buy an Alfa?! :eh
Do you have a fetish for crap electrics and bits of trim that fall off around you or atleast rattle till you end up pulling them off?
Dont forget your AA membership costs when pricing up for what you can afford :lmao:

I would have a 60's alfa Spider.
My dad ex's girlfriend had one, it was an original left hand drive one that had been imported back from Malta.
Was 100% mint as it had lived its life in the sun with no frost, rain or salt etc.
I had afew drives in it, it was quite good fun and looked really smart (was silver)
I wouldnt touch a newer one though

I agree that some Alfas look awesome inside and out, but regarding build quality and reliability they are terrible (better now than they were, I admit before anyone starts on that tangent!)

Terrible depreciation too!

Agreed all the way, but the depreciation makes them a good second hand buy. Those 3k cars were worth 35k four years and 40,000 miles ago. What would a 52 reg BMW 530 be worth today? Yes they tend to feel like they are stuck together with Hubba Bubba, but so does a ford escort, and i bought three new ones of them!

My dad brought a brand new J reg Alfa 75 Twin Spark with factory fitted Veloce bodykit, today you are lucky to find a single one on autotrader, and if you can they are worth less than a grand!

(Was the worst car hes ever brought brand new - His words! Before he moved abroad he brought a brand new car every 3 years, so hes had a fair few!)

Sadly (well it wasnt THAT bad really), a Merc 190 (again, influenced by his GF at the time, the Alfa was her choice too  )

Fortunatly, the 190 came lowered, Speedline alloys, full Zender bodykit (tasteful and subbtle) wasnt brand new obviously.
It was an OK car, but not a touch on his Audis.
Before the Alfa in reverse order:

Y reg Audi 80 CL
D reg Audi 80 Sport
F reg Audi 80 Quattro
Then the dreaded J reg Italian stallion :lmao: :turd

They are stunning to look at, such graceful lines etc, definately one for the collection when my numbers come up lol!

Agreed on the newer ones though, the parts prices alone would put me off, not to mention that a lot of jobs on them require specialist treatment, and they break a lot, so quite expensive to run really:lmao:
