Hi
Just bought a corsa 1.0 05 plate
The problem I have is having replaced the gear linkage (the old one seemed ok when I got it off the car) I tried setting up the gears as described in numerous threads but could not get it right
I looked at the support arm and the one to the left that attaches to the bulkhead seems to have a lot of play up and down in fact someone has put a cable tie on to sort of hold it up
Should this arm be taught and not have movement????
Any help be appreciated

That play is normal. When I was tracing a rattle I too thought the arm should be taught.

Thanks for that
I'll try again but the car wouldn't go into reverse when I followed the setting up procedures that is selector arm facing upward button then stays in screwdriver in gearstick holes then tighten selector rod???
Do these cars naturally have a sloppy gearstick I liken it a bit like the old mini cars of the 70's? I'm 64 and doing the car for my grandson coming up 17 but thought the gearstick although goes in ok
not that precise
Thanks again I'll try again got plenty of time on my hands at the moment
Cheers stay safe
