What would make the car go into limp mode ? Took the car for a quick run and it was in and out of limp mode, there was also a lot of misfire. There are no warning lights coming on the dash board and i do not have a code reader. Incidental how much are they and where do you get them from.

hi mate it will most likely to be the knock sensor that will cause it to go into limp mode.also there is a dionostic plug at front off car by the drivers headlamp.you can read the codes by putting a pin into the plug and read the eml codes as they are being flashed up on the dash.

the 2.5 will need reseting with a vx tech 1 or a other resetter the most pop[ular one on 2.5 is damp in the connectors at rear of engine if you look you will see they collect water. we have had this so many times on the 2.5 its always same fault.

The other is enrichment injection sytem (fifth injector playing up usually temp sensor )
