Hiya all,
i have just purchased a set of GSi/Turbo skirts.
They are complete with end caps, jacking covers and fitting clips.
Question is;

How do i fit them using the clips?

I dont wanna just bond them on, unless i have to.

pics would be good too!

put the clips on the skirts/door trims, put a bit of touch up paint on the back of the clips, offer them up, thereby leaving the paint to mark where the clips go, then drill and rivet the clips on.

I believe Vx sell the rivets especially for this job.

HTH!

sorry to hijack this thread but what would you suggest for bonding the side skirts to the car?

cant use the clips as the gsi has nipples the clips fit into made into the sill, bond em mate

but you can buy the proper rivets for the clips.. `bout £11 for 50.

Genuine fitment would be studs spot-welded to the panel.
Genuine fitment would be using the rivets!

which as mentioned can be purchsed from ur friendly Vx dealer

Part number - 90033713 - 26p each plus VAT.

Did this to my SRi... although I had the benefit of having the SRi skirts already fitted, which meant only one of the rivets for each clip had to be ground off and the GSi clip placed on the remaining rivet head.

I then marked the new position needed for the other rivet, drilled it and popped the rivet in with a gun, job done...

hth...

why would you want to drill and rivet them on over bonding? isnt that just asking for rust? as whe you drill you will break the paint, water then gets trapped behind the skirt. use tigerseal or sikoflex definately.
