Hi all, I have a 2012 Insignia Eco Flex and the exhaust system back box is just an ordinary box that looks like it comes from any old car because it does not reach the back of the car (where the chromed tail pipe should stick out of the bodywork. I purchased the correct back box from eBay, but later learnt that it is from an exhaust system that has two back boxes, so is one of a pair. My question is, if I fit it, will it have any adverse affect on the engine performance?

Many thanks,
Lee.

Not quite sure what you mean 'one of a pair'. Is a Pair a twin-exhaust ?

The "Exhaust Pipe and Silencer" section(s) diagrams here: http://ecat24.com/opel/catalog/parts/1/21/278/595/
should help you tell if the parts are actually the same.

Even if they vary (but fit properly), most of the performance altering [if any] exhaust back-pressure/flow issues should happen in the front pipes and boxes.

Hello MikeSW17,

Yes sorry, I did mean a twin-exhaust, I was speaking in layman terms.

Yes, the box is one half of a twin exhaust. I have checked the dimensions and fixing points and all seems okay.
I will fit it and keep the old box, just in case.

Thanks for your help.
