hello guys .i have an n reg vectra 2.0 gls in very good condition body wise but the engine is a bit smokey .how ever ,i have in my garrage a very low mileage 1.8 engine from a car i broke i while ago.does any one know if it will go straight in my car .i.e the electrical side of things.i only ask because its not worth spending on a new engine .any help would be much appreciated .jas

hi mate which engines are they eg x18xe , x20xev if they are these two then i know that the cylinder heads are the same so if you use the auxiliary bits of the engine thats in then i would have thought you would.

on an N-reg the only difference between the 1.8/2.0 is the bore. 80-ish mm on the 1.8 and 86-ish on the 2.0 from memory. otherwise they are one and the same. they only sleeved down the 1.8 for company car tax.
