Despite spending numerous amounts of money at various garages, I am still unable to solve the problem of this intermittant fault. When slowing at junctions the brake becomes stiff, engine noise changes and it then cuts out. The engine management light is displayed (sometimes) and the brake light always comes on.
Each mechanic (including vauxhall garage) carries out a diagnostic check and all appears to be well.
Has anyone experienced the same fault?

What engine is in the car? If it is a 1.6 8v, it does sound a little like the EGR valve which caused me problems.

Also try the above post, i had the same issues you described with my 2ltr CDX and cleaning the throttle body worked a treat.
