Hi Everyone

My names Neil I’m a newbie to the forum and have a question.

I have a 2013 Vivaro that’s been awesome couldn’t fault it but a couple of weeks ago i had a electrical fire, quite scary 😬
i stripped the dash and found the BCM had melted and part of the white plug loom. I brought a second hand BCM with plugs and wires, I soldier the new white plug to my loom and plugged everything in to test And replaced 54 blown fuses.
Wipers, indicators, windows and stereo all working but the van wont start. I contacted a key doctor to ask if he could code my keys in and he told me I’m waisting my time 🤦🏻‍♂️ After a few comments back and forth i asked why and he said i need to get a matching set ECU, BCM and keys for it to work As you cant code them?
Can anyone tell me if this is correct as there’s a few sets on eBay and also would i need the speedo as well

Appreciate your time and info 👍🏼
