Hi all,

Having a bit of a nightmare with my 2012 insignia. Ready to give it a good kicking.

Car kept going into limp mode on a daily basis with a "service your vehicle" warning. My odb2 reader said "Exhaust gas recirculation flow excessive detected".

Took it to a garage who said the egr valve was stuck open because it was so dirty. They gave it a good clean and sent me on my way. However, the problem persisted so they replaced the egr valve.

Things now are a lot better but I'm having weird issues. My car now goes into limp mode roughly once every 3 days (service warning appears at same time) . If I pull over and read the fault code I get the same egr excessive flow error. However, if I restart the engine then the service warning disappears, limp mode has gone and my odb2 reader says 0 faults. I don't understand why the fault would clear itself, I thought they stayed until you cleared them.

Any ideas???

I'd be concerned about blocking your DPF if there's something wrong.
