Correct - hence why its a bit of a clusterfuck by those supposedly in charge.

Lockdown has helped get it under control by reducing the spread as much as possible - with the much less contact between people limiting the chances for it to grow, but whilst still allowing us some freedom to get out of the house and buy essentials and earn a living as much as possible. Most of the flights we have had arriving have been people flying back home who were abroad before this kicked off - and the measures elsewhere have worked to minimise the chances of them bringing it back.
Its so much easier to stay in lockdown when you dont have a mistress . . . ;) (y)

What was the death tally yesterday - under 200, even if you allow for the fact that is miscalculated and low, so double, or even triple it, so say 600... The population is 60 Million plus ffs. That is a tiny number. All we hear about is the severe cases, & the deaths; the sensational ones the media can regale us with - not about the overwhelming majority that recover fine after a slightly iffy week. And the fairly sizeable amount that barely notice it in the first place.... Apart from some quirks around the edges it is still only a really high threat to the 70+ or those with an underlying health condition..

The strain is off the NHS (it never actually got overwhelmed) - I think the time has come to keep a close eye on the stats, and lift the foot of the brakes a bit, gradually.

Besides, they are going to find it increasingly difficult to hold it now if they dont after that prize prick Cummings took a wrecking ball through the lock-down rules. But hey, did anybody really think "we were all in this together"...
