Morning folks.

My mates 2002 astra 1.6 petrol has developed a rather strange fault. When he indicates either direction, the courtesy light flashes in time with the indicator! Any thoughts?? He had removed the interior bulb but now the early nights are coming in, he wants it back in!

Thanks guys

While I appreciate the reply, I cannot help but think this is a work around rather than a fix. I like to fix things you see and would like to know why this is occurring?

Weird things like this can happen when there is a bad earth connection to the car body somewhere.

Do all the rear and front lights work normally and at full brightness?

Alternatively it could be an issue with the multi timer unit which is located behind the fusebox.

I'll have a look on Friday and report back thanks :)

Sounds like a fault with the BCM if it has one on....Fred.
It doesn't lol
it was good advice about earths and multimer and check there are no incorrect bulbs forced into any lamps ,stop and tail and fog and tail are prime suspects for this and can cause weird lighting issues.

Hi Guys it's sorted now. It was a dodgy headlight/interior light control switch. There was no 'click' as such to activate the interior light. It seem to just 'flop' in and out. Drinkers droop methinks :D

Thanks for your advice guys
