Hi all! Please can anyone help me? I recently bought a 2003 corsa (27000) and it has recently started making some strange noises, which I can only describe as creaking, coming from the steering column. It only seems to do it when turning to the right, and bizarrely, sometimes only when the indicator is on. The noise is intermittent and doesn't seem to start until about 10-15 mins of driving. I am really worried that it is going to be a hugely expensive power steering problem. Does anyone know of any other possible causes for these noises? Thankyou! Jo

Hi Jo.

I don't know why you have a noise, perhaps a loose connection to the power steering motor under the dash?
(The power steering is an electric motor attached to the steering column inside the car.)
When they fail (quite common on Corsa I'm afraid) the steering becomes much harder to turn one way than the other. Then you need a reconditioned unit for £275 plus fitting.
The EPS light is supposed to stay on if something goes wrong with it too.

Sorry I'm not much help..
