Hi all,

My 11 plate Vauxhall Corsa sxi 1.2 revs up by around 500rpm when I dip the clutch. It's an on and off problem and goes away by itself after a few weeks. The problem tends to develop when I drive at higher speeds in and around the city. When I press the clutch to change gear the car revs an extra 500-1000rpm even though I am not pressing the accelerator. I had the car serviced and MOT done a few weeks ago. Problem occurred both before and after the service. Is this a problem only I'm facing? Any ideas on what the issue may be or a solution?

Thank you for any replies in advance.

Okay, do you happen to know if this an issue I could tend to myself? Or do I need to get it seen to in a garage?

Ideally you would like to check the action of the switch (if it has one) and see how quickly it detects the pedal being pressed. If found to be faulty it is straightforward to change, just a bit awkward to get at.
