Hi with my down time I thought I'd get round to fitting new EGR cooler and the metal coolant pipe that runs along the front of the engine . A couple of questions if you don't mind 1 I've got a new gasket for the coolant pipe is it advisable to use any sealant on it ?, 2 does anyone know what thread the bleed screw is ? don't like those plastic things . cheers and all keep well
Discovered one more problem the clip on the fan module is broken so unable to remove it , any tips on how to get around this with out destroying it ? cheers
use a small screwdiver to slide the plastic runners out..mine broke when i changed my cooler pipe aswell. the pipe i had bolted to the head where youre looks like it connects inside a hose ? a bolt snapped on mine so ended up taking the front end off.
Thanks for that Looks like I'm going to give up for now , can't get the turbo air intake off ( can't risk causing too much damage when I can't nip out for new bits ) I loosened it off ok and moves back to front but doesn't want to slip off
yeah..its hard plastic and needs a bit of persuasion to get it over the lip on the turbo inlet port.a nice big prybar and a wriggle usually pops them off.
cheers yet again , I was too much of a coward to give it too much stick . If I break it I'm stuffed , think I need to find a spare from a breakers before I have another go at it
I'm going to stop crawling about under this car , noticed an odd drip fuel filter leak looks like it from the top seal ( fingers crossed ) so sent for new GM filter . It's doing it's best to keep me occupied in this lock down
