have been getting the coolant level warning coming on recently and have a bit of oil leaking onto exhaust not much but enough to smell and leave a small pool under engine. checked oil level when cold and its fine, coolant level a bit low. are the 2 connected? any ideas as to the problems.(can not see any where coolant can be leaking from)

thanks

oil is likely rocker covers - are plug wells got oil in?

coolant leak could be hbv, quite common.

Damn, just seem that yours is 2l, not V6, so possibly not rocker cover gaskets

Yes, sorry, my fault, should have explained the abbreviation :(

Does seem to be a common fault on Omega, not expensive (£20ish IIRC), but a bugger to change on the V6, hopefully not too bad on 2.0l. Assuming location is similar (back of engine) whip off wipers and scuttle, start car, adjust heater to max, and see if you can see leak from it. Then try with heating set to min and check again.
