Is there anyway I can link into the ECU and get fault codes, I used to do this with my old car using an ODBII lead and software.

What would I need for my Omega?

Err... and OBDII lead and software.

There is also the famous 'paper-clip' test, but ask the wise ones if it will work with the facelift 2.6.

And search thses forums - has been discussed many many times before.

And ... search in google, you'l find lots of info.

paperclip won't work on facelift.

Not quite sure on obdii protocol used by facelift, might be CAN. Marks_DTM_Calib will know....
