No such luck it's a hydraulic system and sounds like you have a leak, if it's the slave cylinder leaking the gearbox needs to be removed. It would be prudent to at least check the clutch disc for wear while gearbox is out.

 

Thanks I've been told by colleagues at work this may be the case. However the break and clutch reservoir is full.

 

If you can't see any leaks, then it may be a faulty clutch master cylinder.
It sounds as if you will need to get it into a garage to be diagnosed and fixed.

 

I had my vauxhall insignia grand sport vrx line 2.0 turbo 2 days brought from vauxhall dealer on 9 th may 2022 had same issue took it back big job gearbox out slave cylinder master cylinder new pipes etc parts where £1.500 Labour 1.532 total £3.032 lucky for me covered under vauxhall special warranty .

 

Thanks all. It's booked in the garage next week. I have found a snapped plastic rod in my foot well which I suspect is something to do with it. Hoping for a reasonable outcome but I'm not going to surprised if it a substantial repair cost.
