Hi,

99 v6 CDX vectra, just displayed the warning, check brake pad. Although I don't know which pad, with general every day driving, how long will the pad be now good for. Also, is the warning for both front and back sets?

Ta.

normally front it's flashed the warning because A the sensor wire's have broken,or B the sensors are touching the brake disk,If it was me id do them tomorrow, leave it to long and you need new disc's too, cost's a hell of a lot more than just pad's

Warning is for fronts only. As to how much meat is left on the pads, how long is a piece of string? Best bet is to visually look at the pads and assess how much material is left. or it could well just be a faulty sensor.

Ta thanks. New pads and disks went on the front in sept 07, might be about ready then, although they dint look too thin...

they won't be that thin mate, its just an early warning so you don't let them wear down too far and knacker the discs and so your brakes won't stop working because you have no braking material left on the pad.
