Hi, sorry if this already exists but I couldn't find it. Basically I own a 2005 Vauxhall Astra Life. I've been looking to change the steering wheel to one with steering wheel controls for the stereo etc. however the car doesn't originally have this. My question is will I be able to do this or will I have to stick with steering wheels like the stock one?

Thanks

You can do it.
Whether the steering wheel controls can then be programmed to work on your car is another matter. You would need OpCom or similar to program the variant coding needed and probably your car pass (security code) in order to carry out the programming steps.

I would suggest that this would be a waste of time. My Astra has the steering wheel controls, and I can't remember the last time I actually used them.

Same here, it is very rare I ever use mine. Quicker to just change the settings on the head unit.
