when you start the car it backfires and makes a really loud bang and then cuts out. But when i unplug the air flow meter it runs like a dream i think its the air flow meter but the only problem is it doesnt show the engine management light up on the dash plugged in or not plz could somebody help me

TG - no, you got a good deal! Chains are more expensive than belts! ;)

Just joking, looks like all V6 engines (2.5 litre & 2.6 litre) for the Vectra have belts, and only the 2.2 litre has a chain.

Could be wrong though, I only found info for the Y26SE engine?
