The cambelt and idler pulleys will soon need changing again on my '00 Astra 1.8 Auto.

I checked through Haynes and it all seems straightforward EXCEPT preventing the engine from turning while loosening (and subsequently tightening) the crankshaft pulley bolt.

Just how do you stop the engine rotating on an autobox car?

Vauxhall dealers use a special tool bolted onto the torque converter - has anyone a neat trick to do the same?
