just changed the crankshaft sensor on my astra van 17td as the eml was on, it started up fine and no eml light, had it was running for about five minuets and i revved it up a few times and the next thing pop the engine cut out, off with the rocker box saw it had broken all 4 cam followers, i checked the belt and it was still intact as it was only fitted last weekend,no idea why this has happened,
what else could it have have broke?? or could i get away with replacing the followers

ideally you need to get the head off and make sure nothing has contacted under there, but if you want to risk it, replace the followers and try the engine, who changed the belt?, if it was a garage, take it back to them and get them to have a look, incase they skipped a tooth
