i have a 1.6 ohc single point injection astra,i have tryed putting a k&n on it and does seem to make a differance.it doesnt sound differnt or drive any different.any body know why or dont they do any thing to this engine?cheers steve

The 1.6 8v engine doesn't suck hard enough to get benefit from the airbox modifications or a K&N.

u want a 16v, k&n's grunt like a ***** on em, well it does on myn and myns a corsa 1.4 16v sport, the k&n is louder than my exhaust

some cars have to be re mapped for a k&n air filter, gets too much air in and reduces performance
