Ok guys I am going to ask a silly question but unless I ask I will never know and thats what forums are all about:

What is the difference between an Astra G and an Astra MK4 ?

I have a year 2000 2.0 SRi which I refer to as a MK4 - is this right?

Thanks in advance.

it means the same thing, its just vauxhalls seem to have been said as mk1 mk2 mk3 etc but opels were a b c d etc and now more letters are being used to make it easier,
also its slightly different again as the G means its the opel mk7 but only vauxhall mk4 because of the name changes over here,

does sound complicated but is quite easy when you get used to it,

and yes your 2000 will be a mk4/G
