Hi folks, my 1999 1.7td astra has died. AA man says fuel pump is gone. Fuel not reaching the water filter attachd to the bulkhead in the engine bay. Can anyone help me further with this as not a clue what to look for or what part I need!

Any help very much appreciated - I have got no warning lights on the dash and engine turns but obviously not firing due to lack of fuel!

Thank you

try disconnecting the fuel pipe that goes from the filter to the diesel pump & sticking it in a jar of diesel & then try to start it up , if it starts then the problem is somewhere between the tank & the filter but more likely to be a dodgy seal on the filter .
