Hi all,
I seem to have a problem with the winows on my Astra Coupe (1.8 Bertone 2001), when you open the doors the windows move down a little, but when you then close the door or lock the car the do not move back up :think

Any ideas??

thw windows should open a little when you open the doors to allow the door to open easily,

cant see why it doesnt go back up tho, can you actually see the window is open slightly with the door closed?

Yes you can notice them still down a little.
By pressing the window switch they move back up.. Ok when your getting in

I should have added that sometimes when you pull the door handle they dont even move down.

have you tried resetting them,
let them close all the way and then hold the switch to raise them again and they should click twice (this programs them to the top of the window) this might help, only other idea i have is fuses etc but cant see how that would effect it,

sounds like resetting could be your prob then,

fingers crossed it isnt something more complicated :up:

Done the reset for the windows

Passenger window - now, on opening of door window drops about 10mm and now also goes back up on closing of door. One touch operation also works. :Cool2:

Driver window - still the same - does not drop on opening of door, also noticed one touch operation does not work on this side.

Could this possibly be a relay of some kind? or maybe the switch?

i would have thought the windows would share a relay so if ones working the other should,
if they were both broke and reprogramming fixed one its unlikly they were both broke for different reasons,
cant think of anything else tho tbh, hopefully someone else will have an idea...

Problem sorted at last...
Done the window reset over and over again, driver side just would not reset. Passenger one went first time....
Everytime I was trying the reset I was sitting on the sill of the car - Door Open... That was it, the door was open so would not reset. Jumped in the car closed door and tried again..... Hey presto worked first time.

Learn something new every day eh!

lol....thought ud guess the door must be closed for the window to snese when it hit the top of the car so it could work out where the top is....lol...
