Hello,

This morning when I drove I noticed that when I accelerated more rapidly, the car was momentarily irregularly cutting power. After driving for a bit, the check engine light came on and whenever I accelerated, it started flashing. When I let go of the accelerator, it stopped flashing but remained on. I pulled over as soon as possible and when parking the car by the side of the road I noticed it was making a slight rattling noise. I briefly checked under the hood but I am not very technical and so I didn't notice anything suspicious.

Does anybody know what the problem might be? Can I still drive the car to a repair shop or should I rather get it towed?

It is a 2007 Astra 1.6 77kW petrol. No other warning lights were on. The spark plugs haven't been replaced for quite some time. Fuel filter was never replaced AFAIK. Might be the problem?

Thank you!
