Hi all
I have a 01 izuzu 1.7 astra nice car great on fuel but two annoying problems. At times on tick over the revs go up and down for no apperant reason. Also when I change up through the gears and on changing down the revs will not come down as they should and will hover around 1000 and then suddenly drop. I have spoken to an opel/vauxhall mechanic and all he has said is that they all do this which is poor consolation.
any help out there

yeah my van has got a 1.7 DTi 16valve engine and it does the wierd revs thing.

Glad that I am not imagining things.It only seems to do it when it warms up.Changing gears can be very annoying in traffic as it appears that you have the clutch half in.I dont think that it is great for the clutch. I wonder has it something to do with the ecu unit or some signal from the alternator as they do give trouble.
