Well I was talking to a guy today and this is exactly what he is going to do! Apparently he can buy a conversion kit off some crowd in Cork. He is going to match it up to some strange 5 speed gearbox and stick an Atlas rear axle on the back!

The funniest thing he said was that he was going to keep the car original! :lmao:

I have to get a photo of this job!

heard of a couple. I have seen a RWD Pug 205 with a redtop in it though, bright yellow rally car. Quality entertainment watching that going through the stages!

outta curiosity mainly, why do all these escorts suddenly appear with redtops in? Dont silly reply like ford never made a good enough engine but why go to the main competitor as it were and pinch their engine? sometihng thats puzzled me for a while now.

BDA that's the one :lmao:

Took me ages to reply to Blotto's question because I couldn't think of the name I wanted to add to the sentence "Best transplant would really be a Cossie YB or..............", so I left it in the end :lmao: :O

Don' think its that big a job IIRC. Bulkhead needs to be flattened slightly, and tunnel may need to be widened depending on the model of the shell (autos had wider tunnel as standard) and the 'box being fitted.

Loving that orange one Mat :Cool2:
