My car is a 60Reg Meriva automatic (1.7 diesel). When moving off from a stationary position, it takes a while for it to pick up speed. It is really worrying if I want to make a quick start. Can anyone say what might be causing this and how it can be remedied? I have had the car for the past year this month.

More than likely a sticking egr valve, if its not closing correctly your low down power will be affected.

Its part of the intake manifold, on your engine its located at the end of the engine just to the left of the battery, will have a large multi plug on it and a big black boost hose going into it.

OK. I think I know where it is. So if this is the fault, what should I do to fix the problem?
