I have recently bought a insignia 2009 plate. I was on an A-road and went through a massive puddle. After reaching my destination. I go to turn on my car and I notice the ABS and traction control light came on, followed by the check engine light (which is pretty intermittent). The drives fine but I was hoping to get an idea of what's going on before taking it to the garage

It’s going to need a full scan of the engine management system with a GM compatible diagnostics machine.

Until you’ve had the diagnostic trouble codes retrieved you won’t have anything to go on.
It could that water has entered a connection plug or it could be pure coincidence & it’s nothing to do with water ingress.
Have you not got a garage you use over your way ?
