97' GLS DI 5 door Vectra

Hi All, hope you can help with this:

The passenger side rear tyre is starting to wear badly from the outside in, I'm going to go for a re-alignment this week as I got bumped in the rear about a month ago but I've also noticed the back of the car is a bit 'floaty' when going over bumps, I've been told that this is either bushes or shocks. Could this be the reason behind the tyre wear?

Hi, I would pu your "floaty" feeling down to the rear shocks but could be bushes, as for your tyre wear in extreme cases really worn shocks will cause the wheel to "tramp" along instead of roll. This will give abnormal tyre wear normally bald areas on the tyre. As for wearing from outside to inside its a much more comon problem if on the front and yes that would be a wheel alignment "tracking" issue, but on the rear? have the tyres been swapped around at any point? if not something might be affecting the camber of that particular wheel.
