Hello I'm new here:D

My 2ltr 16v Ecotech engined Cav takes about 5secs to start, tics over fine but revs out at about 4500rpm.

Do I need a new ECU or is it something else........and if it's the ECU how the hell do you get it out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Boltie

You would be needing to look at your cam sensor. I take it the ECU light comes on. Do a search for cam sensor on here, I dare you ;)

Thanks for the quick reply......done a search and came across a post from sri woody
It might be a long shot but i had a prob with my cam sensor cleaned it up and still the same poor running etc,i then done the ing on off 30 times cleared the fault code and what do you know she purrs like a kitten now, might be worth a try as it could still be logging the fault till cleared.
do you know if this works?

Should be at 4k, but mine varied all over the place too.
Does the engine management light come on with ignition lights? Not unusual to have the bulb pulled on early ecotecs :lmao:
